Galliford Try signs 2 year deal with GAP Plant & Tool Hire
GAP Group, the UK’s largest independent plant and tool hirer, has been selected by Galliford Try as a preferred supplier of plant and tools. The initial contact will last for two years with the option to extend it should the joint agreed terms and conditions be met by both parties.
Galliford Try has recently streamlined its supply chain and, as a result, has reduced the number of suppliers used from over twenty to just two preferred plant and tool suppliers for the whole group. The result of this exercise has resulted in tighter cost control and improved Health & Safety for Galliford Try. In addition, narrowing the supply chain results in closer relationships and delivers the added bonus of efficient process and problem management.
After going through a vigorous tender process which started last October, GAP is delighted to have been successful in its bid for supplying Galliford Try with its Plant and Tool Hire requirements, and is looking forward to developing a prosperous relationship going forward.
Simon Stone, Divisional Procurement Manager, Building Division, commented; “GAP was chosen as a preferred supplier to Galliford Try because they offered a sound commercial but sustainable offering. We have taken to the culture of “customer focus” and the “can do” attitude that exists within GAP, and this together with the understanding that costs require to be reduced and controlled, means we are delighted to have signed this agreement.”
