GAP nominated for Employer of the Year Award by Construction News

GAP is delighted to announce that the company has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Construction News Employer of the Year Award 2014.

The Construction News Awards is one of the biggest award ceremonies in the industry which will be attended by over 1,200 key professionals for an evening of industry networking and celebration.

The Employer of the Year Award category recognises companies who can prove their excellence as an employer. Head of HR at GAP, Catriona Dunning commented;

GAP’s award submission focussed on our record-breaking recruitment over 2013 as a result of opening 14 new depots across the UK and increasing our national coverage.  We also demonstrated our commitment to developing our workforce through ongoing growth and enhancing team structures.  This, combined with our continuing policy of promoting from within the organisation to develop skills and experience, improves employee loyalty, commitment and exceptional performance. During 2013, 90 employees, representing 8%, of our workforce were promoted internally. This is GAP’s second nomination for the Employer of the Year Award in as many years so we are hoping that this year we can win.

GAP will be attending an interview with members of Construction News Awards judging panel at the beginning of June. The panel, which contains senior figures from the industry, will be interviewing each shortlisted company on their excellence as an employer, before deciding on the winner.

The shortlist announcement confirmed that GAP is competing for this award against market-leading companies such as Amey, Lagan Construction Group, Oktra, Pick Everard, Story Contracting, Tamdown Group and VolkerWessels UK. The winners will be announced on 17th July 2014 at the award ceremony in London.
