2025 London and Manchester Marathons

• Total barrier and fencing coverage: 27,000 metres 

• Locations; Central London (route and finish areas); Manchester City Centre (Course route, start and finish areas) 

• GAP Group’s project teams undertook advance planning meetings with both marathon organising teams to map out delivery sequences, install areas, crew resourcing and contingency measures. 

• Full sets of risk assessments, method statements and insurances were submitted and approved well in advance of the event weekend. 

• The delivery and installation took place across two major UK cities within a 48-hour operational window. 

• GAP Group deployed regional teams and transport assets from its nationwide depot network, coordinating simultaneously in both London and Manchester. 

• A combined fleet of articulated flatbeds, 3.5t vehicles and support crew vehicles was mobilised to execute precision-timed deliveries and on-site setup. 

• Installations were completed in coordination with local authorities, event organisers and safety teams, ensuring full compliance with road closure timings and public access requirements. 

• All 27,000 metres of barriers and fencing were successfully delivered and installed on schedule, ensuring both events ran safely and smoothly. 

• The swift turnaround and operational precision demonstrated GAP Group’s capability to manage complex, multi-site projects within highly time-sensitive environments.
