GAP Giving Spotlight – May Round-Up

GAP Giving, our Charitable Foundation, donates around 0.5% of the company’s profits to various charities each year. Those charities are selected by our employees, to give back to those which have touched their lives during difficult times.

Throughout the month of May, we have supported nine charities which have each been nominated by our GAP employees.

Thanks to fundraising activities organised by members of the GAP Team, through our GAP Match initiative, we have matched the fundraising amounts raised for St Catherine’s Hospice and Calums Cabin.

As part of our monthly Donation initiative, a number of GAP employees selected charities who are close to their hearts to receive a donation in support of the work they do. The donations for this month includes, The Paper Cup Project, North Liverpool Foodbank, Kind, The Whitechapel Centre and Everton in the Community.

Our two Charities of the Month for May, as selected by our South West Region and HR Department, are Macmillan Cancer Support and Sightsavers, respectively.

We understand the impact these donations can have on the charities we choose. Following a recent donation to Marie Curie, they kindly sent us some feedback on what this donation will help to support.

“Marie Curie was delighted recently to receive a generous donation of £10,000 from GAP Giving. This will fund 500 hours of much needed nursing care, provided either in the 9 UK Hospices or by their nursing staff visiting people in their own homes or in the community.

Marie Curie is for people living with any terminal illness, and their families. They offer expert care, guidance and support to help people get the most from the time they have left. This care is also provided via their free online and telephone support. You can see the difference this donation will have by reading Daniela's story.".
