The GAP Team is proud to have supported various Plant & Hire Aid Alliance initiatives over the last few months. In October, two GAP drivers generously volunteered their time and took part in a convoy to Ukraine, when essential items were shipped to Eastern Slovakia and distributed to the people of Ukraine. Following this, we have recently shipped over 500 Christmas presents for Ukrainian children, which have been donated by GAP employees, customers, and suppliers.
Everyone at GAP is aware of the destruction to Ukrainian towns and cities and the tragedies which have been inflicted on families over the last year, with many facing uncertain futures. This time last year, Ukrainian children and their families would have been looking forward to celebrating Christmas. This year it’s different. And we hope we can help make a small difference.
When GAP were notified of the opportunity to support The Plant & Hire Aid Alliance this Christmas, the team instantly sprang to action. Flyers were created and distributed throughout GAP Head Office and depots across the UK to encourage donations from employees, suppliers, and customers. A designated collection area was created to ensure presents could be sorted safely and securely until they were ready for shipment. Some of our GAP Team also took part in wrapping presents.
The generosity shown by GAP employees, customers and suppliers was astounding and we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who so generously donated. A special mention goes to GK & N Services and PPS Commercials for their incredibly kind donations.
We are delighted to have shipped the Christmas presents this week for boys and girls of all ages. We truly hope we can give some Ukrainian children a Christmas this year during these difficult times.
