GAP Group supports customers to reach their sustainability goals
National equipment hirer, GAP Group has been working with their customers and suppliers to play their part in creating a sustainable environment. As part of their Green Action Plan, GAP is committed to becoming a ‘greener’ organisation in every way possible, whilst also looking for ways to reduce both customer's and supplier's impact on the environment.
Working alongside its customers across the UK, GAP can help to reduce their carbon footprint as a key part of their supply chain. A notable example of working together to achieve these goals is through the strong working relationship that GAP has with McNicholas over the past 18 years. McNicholas continues to improve its sustainability levels year on year, clearly recognizing the growing importance green initiatives have within the construction industry. In their most recent sustainability report GAP received a special mention as McNicholas commented they are ‘proud to be working with a like-minded supplier and congratulate GAP Group on its achievements’. GAP was also delighted when their dedication sustainability was recently recognized by making the shortlist in the Low Carbon Excellence category at the Construction News Specialist Awards 2014.
Nick East, GAPs Account Manager for McNicholas commented,
GAP Group are very proud of our trading partnership with McNicholas. We are both family owned businesses where our relationships are built on honesty and trust as well as a commitment to Health & Safety, innovation, sustainability, and ultimately, excellent customer service.
GAP understands the impact its business activities can have on the environment and continues to develop and implement more environmentally efficient practices its business. Initiatives include investing in items such as solar powered and battery traffic lights which eliminate the need for fuel, installing solar panels at Head Office reducing our reliance on the grid and the introduction of rain water harvesting tanks throughout a number of our depots across the UK, which provide a saving of around 70% in mains water consumption.
