Diamond Core Drills

Diamond Core Drill hire form GAP Hire Solutions covers machines that cut precise, clean circular holes through concrete, block and masonry, far cleaner and more accurately than a standard rotary hammer drill. A Diamond Core Drill is used to cut holes for soil pipes, ducting, ventilation, flues and cable and pipe runs through walls, floors and ceilings, jobs regularly carried out by plumbers, electricians, heating engineers and builders. Our fleet includes machines from Makita and Hilti. The Makita DBM131 is a compact, handheld drill suited to smaller diameter and lighter-duty work. For heavier and more frequent use, the Hilti DD 100, DD 110-D and DD 150 are rig-mounted machines that use a water feed for wet drilling, keeping the core bit cool and controlling dust when cutting through masonry and concrete. Handheld drills suit quick, occasional holes where a rig would be impractical, while rig-mounted machines hold the drill steady and true for larger diameters or repeated coring, giving a cleaner, more accurate result over a long day's work. Wet drilling is the standard method for diamond coring, as it prevents the segments overheating and keeps dust to a minimum onsite. Diamond Core Drills are available from GAP depots nationwide.
